BrickDex does not ask you to create an account, and it does not collect your name, email address, or contacts. Your collection stays on your device. To identify a part, the photo you take is sent to a third-party recognition service. The app also shows ads, and the advertising provider collects some device information in order to serve them. Details are below.
None. BrickDex has no servers of its own. Your collection (which parts you own, in which colors and quantities) and your scan history are stored only in your device's local storage. They leave the device only when you explicitly export them using the share sheet, and only to the destination you choose.
When you press the shutter (or, in development builds, pick a photo from your library),
BrickDex resizes the image to at most 1024 pixels and sends it to
Brickognize (api.brickognize.com), an independent part-recognition
service, which returns a list of likely part numbers. The image is used only to produce that
answer. BrickDex does not keep a copy of the photo, and does not attach any identifier to the
request. Brickognize's handling of the image is governed by its own terms at
brickognize.com.
If you choose a candidate other than the first suggestion, BrickDex sends Brickognize the request identifier and the part number you selected so that the service can improve. This contains no personal information.
Part and set pictures are loaded from Rebrickable's content delivery
network (cdn.rebrickable.com). As with any web request, that server can see your
IP address. The catalog data itself is bundled inside the app and works offline.
BrickDex shows ads through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google may collect:
We do not receive this data in a form that identifies you. Google's handling of it is governed by their own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
BrickDex Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment details. Whether you own the purchase is checked against the store's servers.
BrickDex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no personal information ourselves, such requests are best directed to Google using the link above. You may also reset your advertising identifier at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Deleting the app deletes your collection and scan history.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
